LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge that we are situated on the traditional land of the Tongva, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh, and Chumash peoples. We honor and pay tribute to their elders and descendants. We acknowledge that the history of settler colonization involved land dispossession, disease, oppression, slavery, displacement, broken commitments, genocide, and intergenerational trauma. This acknowledgment reflects our responsibility to uphold truth, foster healing, and support reconciliation, as well as to elevate the stories, culture, and community of the original peoples of Los Angeles.
